HealthDiseases.org is a health-education website. Its job is to help ordinary people understand health conditions, symptoms, laboratory tests, nutrition and supplement ingredients well enough to have better conversations with their own doctors and make better-informed decisions.

It is written for people, not for clinicians. We aim for plain language, short paragraphs and honest uncertainty. Where the evidence is strong we say so; where it is thin, mixed or absent we say that too.

What we publish

  • Condition guides — what a condition is, what changes in the body, causes and risk factors, symptoms, how it is diagnosed, conventional treatment, and everyday management.
  • Symptom explainers — what a symptom can mean and when it needs medical attention.
  • Medical test explainers — what tests like A1C, PSA or a lipid panel measure and how to read the numbers.
  • Nutrition and health guides — how the body works and how food, sleep, stress and activity affect it.
  • Ingredient profiles — evidence-based summaries of supplement ingredients, rated separately for each use.
  • Health questions — direct answers to questions people actually ask.
  • Supplement research — evaluations of commercial products, clearly labelled and separated from the educational content.

How the site is funded

HealthDiseases.org is an independent, commercially supported publisher. The site earns money through affiliate links on its supplement research pages: if you buy a product after clicking one of those links, we may receive a commission. This does not change the price you pay.

Most pages on this site contain no affiliate links at all. Educational pages are labelled as such, and our templates do not allow product promotion on them. You can read more in our affiliate disclosure and advertising policy.

We are not a medical practice, a charity or a government body, and the .org domain does not imply non-profit status.

Editorial roles

We do not publish under invented names or fabricated credentials. Articles are attributed to editorial roles, each with a defined responsibility:

  • HealthDiseases Research Team — researches and writes health and condition content from primary sources.
  • Health Content Editor — reviews every article for accuracy, readability and unsupported claims before publication.
  • Supplement Research Editor — evaluates commercial supplements and verifies product facts against labels and sales pages.
  • Ingredient Research Team — prepares ingredient profiles and evidence ratings.

At present no page on this site is reviewed by a licensed physician, pharmacist or dietitian. If and when a qualified professional joins as a medical reviewer, their name, credentials and a verifiable profile will be published, and only the articles they have personally reviewed will carry a "medically reviewed" label. See our medical review policy.

Who this site is for

Our primary audience is adults in the United States, followed by Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. Medical guidelines, drug names, reference ranges and supplement regulations differ between countries; where that matters we try to say so, but you should always check with a healthcare professional in your own country.
